Chakras

What is a Chakra?

Chakra is pronounced /cha-cruh/ (like chocolate). It’s Sanskrit for “energy wheel.” Humans have seven major chakras that follow the length of the spine. Physically, major chakras correspond to body parts, including major nerve bundles, endocrine glands, organs, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and bones. Energetically, major chakras can reveal our physical, emotional and spiritual health. When we are well, our chakras are open, spinning freely. Sometimes, one or more of our chakras can become blocked. Yoga and Reiki can help restore balance.
